As a fun project, I'll try to make a job tracker with stats and eventually moving towards being able to track details.

Context

I realized that my React skills are getting rusty. This might seem so inefficient but I'm making a subdomain react.turnipxenon.com using React solely for refreshing myself with how to use React. I also don't have any public repository with more refined React examples, so here it is.

To be honest, the reason why I'm starting this is that I had a coding interview where I had to code in React. I was so rusty in React that it took me almost two hours making a calculator app that was so unsatisfactory with what I could have had. Next time, I want to be prepared. I'll try swapping between Svelte and React, because I personally love Svelte, and I don't wanna quit using it to focus on React solely for skill purposes.

Is this a blatant resume padder? Yep! <3 But hey, I gotta I know all of these, and I'm not bluffing. I know all there is in the stack.

Requirements

• We want to import our current csv of job records to here
• We want to create a job hunt session
• We want to create a job posting
• We want to be able to create events related to job posting
• We want to be able to login as admin to allow editing and seeing hidden information
• We want non-admin users to see only certain details and anonymized information
• We should have visualizations and diagrams for a job session

Future goals

• Allow multiple users? Let’s model the data to consider this though

Current solution

• We currently have a Google Sheet where we insert a job posting and change the status
  • Pros:
    • Simple
  • Cons:
    • No history of when a status occurred. I could add another column for that or just have one special field that I can type following a certain format following the events. The latter is something that exists for job postings where I was invited for an interview.
